Voyaguer Training - Canoe Training & Paddle Craft Safety for Adults. More information is available here. 1st weekend - April 24 & 25, 2010. 2nd weekend - May 1 & 2, 2010. Both weekends at Camp Belzer.
BSA Canoe Paddle Craft Safety Certification - Paddle Craft Safety expands Safety Afloat training to include skills, as well as knowledge, to prepare a unit leader to confidently supervise canoeing excursions on flat water. More information is available here.
Adult Leader Training

Adult leader training consists of basic leader training and leader specific training. Basic leader training is for all adult leaders regardless of position. Leader specific training is designed to present in depth information for a new leader in a specific leadership position such as Committee member or Assistant Scoutmaster.
To be considered fully trained you must complete basic leader training as well as leader specific training for your position.
Basic Leader Training
Boy Scout Leader Fast Start - Fast Start is the first step for new leaders in Scouting. This is an introduction to your new job in Scouting. Available on line here.
New Leader Essentials - This training is for all Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing adult leaders, as well as Chartered Organization Representatives and Committee members. Attend this session only one time even if you change positions. New Leader Essentials is an introductory course that shares the basics of how Scouting works. Should be preceded by viewing the Fast Start video for the appropriate program. New Leader Essentials is available by your unit trainer or online. Available on line here.

Troop Committee Challenge - The mission of the Troop Committee Challenge training is to help each troop committee work as a team to improve the Scouting experience for adult and youth members. It helps build the commitment of individual members as well as cultivates a better troop committee team. Available on line Available on line here.
Scoutmaster Specific - Following New Leader Essentials training, this course is phase two of a new Scoutmaster's introduction to the Boy Scouts of America and to the responsibilities, opportunities, and resources that will ensure a successful troop leadership experience. Course topics include:

Outdoor Leadership Skills - Providing leaders in Boy Scouting, Varsity and Venturing with basic outdoor skills information. Given over one to two and a half days, it may include an overnight camping experience. Course emphasizes skills and may be accelerated by demonstrating mastery of specific skills. Skills taught are based on those found in The Boy Scout Handbook with emphasis on skills that build confidence and competence in leaders conducting outdoor experiences. Subjects covered include: flag etiquette, plant identification, packing and hiking techniques, map and compass, cooking and first aid.For scheduled times and locations, check the Crossroads of America training page. This training is also conducted at summer camp.
